I think this topic is made based on a flawed premise.
The flawed premise is that you will enjoy a game the same no matter when you buy it. I don't think that's true. A lot of your experience is subjective. In particularly, when it's something you've been waiting for and the hype train and marketing machine are running at full speed, it may just hit different.
