Is nintendo the winner of the 8th gen or the 9th gen?

I didn't say that either. I simply pointed out that your criteria for defining Switch as Gen 8 is arbitrary; you say PS5 is 9th because it's still selling, but so is Switch. 

You say it was because Switch was released during Gen 8, but then why is March 2017 "during gen 8" but November 2020 suddenly next gen?

Because the ps5/series x launched? Creating the new genn.

Or is nintendo the only one who says when the next genn is upon us?
