The big problem with the arguments for and against emulation is big publishers don't rerelease enough of their older games, which is why so many people resort to downloading ROMs. Nintendo is especially problematic here.

I couldn't think of any RE game that was closer to the RE2 remake.

Well its just a natural progression of the graphics style. Its a more realistic one. Would be weird if the RE2 remake had blocky polygon looking characters like the original on PS1.
