NS2 started Gen 10 with Steam machine prolly being the second to join. Xbox and Playstation might be 2027 if the chip and ram situation doesnt change too much.

Nice catch, this year we will have a second contender in the mix. So in a year or 2 we could see another participant of 10th gen. Just like it happened with Dreamcast releasing in 1998 and PS2 releasing in 2000

I view both as late to the party :p

They are both 9th gen.
Nothing techwise, makes them a gen ahead of Series X or PS5/PS5pro.
The insides are 9th gen.... just launching late doesn't give you a gen ahead number.
(launching multiple consoles on short cycles doesn't put you ahead either)

This forum is very nintendo focused, so if you do a thread with a pole of what gen it belongs too, most will vote for the biggest number.
Out of love for nintendo, or thinking its ahead a gen is a good thing or such.

If you look else where on the net, most people think it 9th gen.
Just like the switch was 8th gen (it was there with the PS4XB1).

Really? Maybe people wanna keep a fine order among the successions of the biggest console manufactures?

Why some people wanna make a mess on this, insisting in pulling non sensical parameters and rules from their assess, that were totally insignificant on previous generations (Wii 7th gen, Wii U 8th gen...hello?? U wanna sleep on that again???)?

Seeing how this site (and the whole internet) is filled with users that suffer from Nintendo Derangement Syndrome, I would guess that they wanna take every opportunity to put Nintendo on a bad light, thinking that putting Switch 1 and 2 one gen behind is some kind of memento, a punishment to Nintendo for not taking the P0wEr route (They couldnt make it work for Wii an WiiU bc they were way aligned with PS and Xbox in the timeline to make this shit fly)...

Who knows which side is holding the lamest agenda? Take your guess

Edit: Another funny piece. Switch for also being a successor of 3DS, but Switch Lite being a handheld de facto is somehow listed as an 8th gen handheld on Wikipedia, despite releasing in 2019 (7 years after PSvita* and the exact year it was discontinued) and having a huge tech jump compared to Vita*.

Make it make sense, because I cant lol

*Yeah, I am using Vita as parameter bc I know how obtuse some people are to this concept and only assume PS systems release/lifespan as the beggining/ending of a generation
