From a business perspective the real winner is whomever is making the most money, not selling the most units.

i mean if we go by that metric, nintendo is still winning. but i think the fairest thing to do is just look at units sold. its clear (well, in all cases but 1), its easily attainable, its marketshare, and historically, its always been the measure of who won that generation. units sold is the metric.
