I have been pondering this, personally i feel like the switch is an 8th gen console, i am basing that off of a combonation of when it came out and the power of the hardware. Usually in my mind, the generation is determined by the date of release but since switch released half way through 8th and has lasted halfway through 9th, i feel like there needs to be a tiebreaker, and well, thats where power comes in. Im sure this conversation has happened many times on these boards, but i must admit, im not sure what the general consensus is around here, so forgive me on that point.

Anyway, i feel pretty confident in saying its an 8th gen console, and i therefore must say its pretty impressive that they ended up winning that generation after how much the wii u was getting trounced by the ps4. Great comeback for nintendo. This puts nintendo at 4 total championships and in position to 3peat if the switch 2 can manage to outsell the ps5. Itll be interesting to see how gen 9 plays out.
