Would be at least a justified move when you just change "drugs" which Trump uses as argument into "guns" which many American countries could argue with. And maybe, just maybe it would be also easier for a country like Mexico to handle the problems if all those criminals wouldn't get hundred thousands of weapons from USA so easily.
But it's USA so nobody will do anything, not even some sanctions against any US industry will happen. Some will complain a little and that's it. After that every country will just watch how US oil companies will have a new big revenue stream to make USA even more powerful so that every other country will suffer even more under USA's way to negotiate anything with anyone.
