The only reason I had issues with Clair Obscur's use of AI was that at one point they lied about not using it at all. If the developer had stated from the beginning that they had used some placeholder art and experimented with AI early on in development but later replaced all AI assets I wouldn't have cared one bit, as I'm more than willing to forgive mistakes made as long as they are acknowledged as such, and Sandfall has quite clearly done that.

And to make this as clear as possible, I don't like the use of generative AI in video game development, and I'm immediately less likely to buy a game that uses it, especially in a creative/artistic capacity. AI created assets are not art, plain and simple. The only people who consider it actual art are themselves creatively bankrupt as far as I'm concerned.
