I am discrediting the PS2. There's no law that says I can't or no one is allowed to look at any context or apply any critical thinking skills to this topic. Everyone and their grandma knows full well the Switch would easily pass this number if Nintendo wanted to discount the system to a budget price and continue to sell it for a few more years. Anyone seriously want to dispute that? The Switch has outsold the PS2 by a large amount through 8 years and would continue to do so for another few years if allowed to do so. Like I'm sorry but this idea of "shhhh!!!! you're not allowed to say that out loud though!!!" is silly. I'm saying it because it's true. |
If you want to start talking hypothetical and contributing factors and the topic to devolve into:
"If Switch didn't wait 8 years for successor DS would have easily beaten it!"
"If PS2 didn't have a dvd player!"
"If we take the higher price into account!"
"What about inflation?"
"If it weren't for COVID!"
"The world population is much bigger now!"
"The gaming industry is bigger now!'
"The economy is bad no one has money!"
"Mobile gaming hurt it's sales!"
The thread will just become an endless debate with people discrediting the sales of systems and using various factors to try and put their console in the lead and paint their systems sales as more impressive. Because there's many angles to discredit what the Switch, or any other system has done in the same way you're trying to discredit the PS2.
Ain't no one gonna be happy if the thread goes down this direction.
