Yes ... and?

Nintendo should continue to sell the 3DS. What would be the problem with that? I would frankly like them to continue to sell the N64 and GameCube older systems too (like the real iterations, not mini-consoles). In the past the valid reason for not doing this was because stores didn't have shelf space to carry software titles for older systems, but that's essentially a moot point today as digital distribution exists.

The only reason the PS2 has this record is not because it was "more popular" it's because it exploited the fact that the PS3 started off horribly and was allowed to sell at a discounted price as a result for several extra years, the Switch is way ahead of the PS2 at this point in its product cycle.

I agree with this, ps2 wasnt That populair against the gamecube and xbox, i mean combine those 2 and ps2 still had a pacman against it.

O...

Wait.....

GameCube and XBox are irrelevant.

Switch is kicking the PS2's ass after 8 years worth of sales, that's not a small sample size. The only reason this is even a race is because the PS2 needed several extra years which it got because Sony was incompetent and botched the PS3 launch, so PS2 got to sell for extra years at a discounted bargain bin price.

If Switch 1 is afforded the same luxury, it would easily pass 160 and probably even 165 million. It's not a matter of whether or not the system can do it or not, it's about whether it will allowed to do it or not.
