Honestly now looking at the PS5 gen only ports to Switch 2. The Switch 2 ports look like the exact same games just with small resolution differences and maybe frame rate. You could argue the same for Switch 1 ports of PS4 games too but imo the gap definitely feels alot smaller for PS5 to Switch 2 compared to PS4 to Switch 1.
For example, the gap to Capcom seemed big enough between Switch 1 and PS4 to the point where they didnt even bother porting the native RE games to Switch 1. Now RE9 is coming to Switch 2 and looks pretty much like the exact same game outside of frame rate.
Even when you compare somewhat similar current gen open world games like Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin's Creed Shadows to the Switch 1 equivalent open world port Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed Shadows holds up way better compared to PS5 then the Switch 1 Witcher 3 did compared to PS4 where the drawbacks were definitely quite big for Witcher 3 on Switch 1, and even if you want to use a smaller scale game like Apex Legends, the difference was still much bigger than what we're seeing on Switch 2.
So all in all, Im more than happy with the Switch 2's hardware and its looking like it'll hold up much better this time around than Switch 1 did.
