And knowing Microsoft, the way they’ll “rethink” is by firing devs and entering a directionless, downward spiral.

Layoffs are gonna happen regardless; tons of devs have been culled over the last few years even when their games do well.

The downward spiral would be assured if games like BO7 continued selling 30m plus; there'd be no chance of course correction then.
