My copy arrived today, and I played through the first few levels.
It's very much more of the same in terms of the core gameplay, so if you enjoyed the prior two Hyrule Warriors games, you should have a good time with this too. There are refinements, but nothing that breaks the mould.
After the shaky 20-30fps of the previous games on Wii U and Switch 1 though, the smooth 60fps of Age of Imprisonment feels incredible and makes the action more satisfying than ever before.
Graphically you can tell it started as a Switch 1 game; the assets are very much on par with a high end Switch 1 title, indeed many seem to have been lifted directly from Tears of the Kingdom, and there's no DLSS or indeed even anti-aliasing, but thanks to its art style it still manages to look attractive.
For those who are also playing, what do you think?
