I'm recommending you this show already even though only the pilot episode is out so far cuz I can already tell THIS will be a good one!
Knights of Guinevere is the new dystopian sci-fi action-drama cartoon series being created by Dana Terrace following her departure from Disney on bad terms. (For those who don't know or recall, Terrace was the lead creator of The Owl House.) It centers on a planet-spanning, floating amusement park -- run by a character bearing a curious resemblance to Walt Disney -- that's touted as a land of imagination and hope, but that in reality literally towers over its workers, who live in squalor, and crushes their dreams. The mass-produced android princess Guinevere is the park's mascot. They appear to have been created in the image of the park owner's dead wife for the purpose of comforting his grieving daughter...who never stops grieving...but also serve shall we say other purposes. One unique Guinevere android attempts to escape, but winds up in a junk yard, where she is discovered by one of two women who will become her "knights". The pilot revolves mainly around the two of them. Many details remain shrouded in mystery after just one 26-minute episode, naturally, but the storyline is consistently intriguing.
I often love these kinds of shows; action cartoons for adults. I wish there were more of them. It seems like nearly all animated shows geared toward adults are comedies. That's fine, but I kinda prefer this type of content more. Even after just one episode, I can already tell this has the potential to be among the best I've ever seen. It's definitely a colossal middle finger to Terrace's former employer and already the most powerful critique of the Disney empire I've ever seen. Strongly recommended!
I've shared the pilot episode below. It's already been viewed an impressive 13 million times so far as of this writing, which suggests it's Terrace's most popular work to date!
