In some ways it's reminiscent of Switch 1's launch where the internet had decided that the launch window lineup is weak; Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe went on to combine for more than 100 million copies sold. Neither one of these two games was an actual exclusive, but Switch 2's two early heavy-hitters are. How fake the controversies around Switch 2 were was demonstrated every time it came to making sales predictions. People acted like Nintendo had a flop on their hands, but at the same time they were shitting their pants to predict under 100 million units sold lifetime. |
