Personally, I feel like Prime 4 and Legends Z-A being crossgen makes logical sense, as the former needs to sell as much as it can to recoup its troubled development and was announced as a Switch 1 game already, and there's still a huge base of Switch 1 players who need something to play this holiday. 

That said, it was also the right choice in my view to release Mario Kart/DK/Kirby/Hyrule Warriors/etc as exclusives, so encourage people to upgrade and to do stuff that would've been hard to pull off on the last gen system like MK's open world and DK's destructibility. 

It's also nice to see a Nintendo platform not get dropped like a hot potato the moment it's successor arrives. (or even before)
