A quick search says the Vietnam tariffs are 20%. The PS5 price went up by about 10% depending on the model. I am not saying it will 100% happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if the PS5 price goes up another $50 to $550/$600/$800. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Switch 2 price goes up in the future.

All but guaranteed. Sony is watching Microsoft but still wants to undercut them in price.

Between January-April 2026, I strongly believe Switch 2 in the USA will go up to $500 or $550. I think Switch will stay the same as its current upped prices or slightly go up (maybe $420 for Switch OLED as an example).

Nintendo wanted a strong launch globally, and they got the strongest hardware launch ever by units sold and potentially revenue and profits. They also know the holiday season is key. I think they'd rather risk a disappointing Holiday 2026 than a disappointing Holiday 2025. They want to get tens of millions of players into Switch 2 in the first years.

The next Xbox is likely to be a premium product in price.

That's already where they seem to be going with the Xbox Ally and Ally S.

I'm glad I bought my S2 at launch. I was incentivized to do so by the promise of tariffs.
