I am not british. But even if I were, I should not be punished for the sins of my forefathers. I did nothing wrong. And they most probably did not either. Colonialism came from a very few, very wealthy people, not from the broad public.

But looking at british colonialism, I think you will find that commonwealth countries are typically far better off than their neighbours. Must have been one hell of an influence the British had (banning the burning of alive widows with their dead husbands in India, food preservation tactics, common law - Indian population and life expectancy increased immensly during their rule, after stagnating for a long time.)

And just because the british had awefull episodes in their history does not mean that anybody else was not at least just as awefull. They were instrumental in ending the transatlantic slave trade - while the African slavers wanted it to continue.

And any of that certainly does not mean that the british people today should not be allowed to have immigration laws to their liking. You can recognise that going into another country and taking control was not good when the british did it. But when people try doing that to the british people, that is okay? Your moral compass really tells you that people who had nothing to do with common, global historic evils should be punished? Than so should any other country - there is not one without blood on their hands.

Nobody alive today did that or was even born then, and those responsible are long dead.

This, but, it's very important to note that the UK for some time now, stopped their geographical empire building because they learned that lesson.

To look at it like, 'well now that it's happening to you, how do you feel', is almost like saying the UK wasn't wrong to begin with and should've, or should continue what they were doing back then.

Perhaps instead it may be seen by some as kind of a temporary thing and punishment for the past, but even if that were the case, then best to tread lightly, because often enough, when a Country of whites has gotten pushed too far to an extreme, they end up going white supremacy war crazy.
