I'm not in a good mood as a Nintendo fan right now. Between the pricing and greed on display once again and the lack of any new major first-party games or third-party exclusives that I can think of is souring me.
Things have not felt this dire since late 2015 until the unveiling of Switch in late 2016. Yes, the last years of Wii U were more dire overall, of course. But the expectations had been lowered because of the droughts of first and third-party games.

You arent gonna get third party exclusives anymore.

Development costs have skyrocketed to the point where its not beneficial to make games exclusive which is why both Sony and Microsoft have been releasing games on each other's consoles and PC. Its also why Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 has been confirmed to be multiplat instead of being advertised as exclusive.

Nintendo might not have that problem at this moment but who's to say it wont happen, multiple factors can impact a company such as leadership changes, etc.

The Nintendo right now seems to be more open to things than they did in the past for an example. You wouldnt see all the merchandise like toys, legos, etc 20 years ago compared to right now for an example.

As for first party titles, its subjective but the new Fire Emblem and Yoshi games are games that I am 100% interested in and can see getting them day 1 (though my issue is I like playing games in order of release before buying a new game in that series so it'll be awhile before I buy Fire Emblem because I still need to play Three Houses and Engage - Yoshi's not too much of an issue, Crafted World is the only game I havent played and I'm thinking about playing it before this new Yoshi game comes out).

I guess I cant relate to things being dire or suffering from game droughts, sure I knew the WiiU wasnt selling and wasnt getting as much support and releases as its competitors or past systems but it didnt really affect me because at the time I was also playing on Playstation and PC. Now its even less worry for me since I've now included Xbox and iOS into my gaming catalog.

But the Switch alone has so many games to play, I still have a bunch of Switch 1 games I need to play on my Switch 2.
