He went into the US Politics thread to complain about the locking of the Charlie Kirk thread, suggesting that the mods locked it for the purpose of covering up for the left/protecting the left. That's despite the new details about the shooter being discussed in the US Politics thread, all of which pointed to a young man with far-right political views.

This made it obvious that KLXVER didn't really care about Kirk or his killer, but was pissed off for the simple reason that the mods had shut down a thread that served as a platform for him to spread his hatred for the left. He was aggressive, insulting mods and users alike.

The difference in penalty likely comes down to making one bad post as opposed to about ten in a row. Regardless, I'd appreciate a link to the other banned user you are talking about because I missed that one.
