When someone on the left does something, it's the left's fault. When someone on the right does something, it's also the left's fault. Overall, I'm still confused as to why I should give a shit. Should people be able to say what they want without fear or being shot? Yes. Should they be able to go to school without being shot? Also yes. Go to a night club without being shot? Yes again. Movies? Yes. Go to a black Church? Yes. Be a democratic lawmaker? Yes. Go to Walmart? Yes. So why is this suddenly a big deal when none of the other shootings were? Because they don't give a shit when until it happens to them. Deplorable. |
To be fair, Trump and Fox don't actually give a shit about Charlie Kirk, either. But they know they can use his murder to whip their base up into a lather in a way that school shootings, church shootings, and the murder of Democratic politicians can't be. Churches were holding candlelight vigils for Kirk on Wednesday night, including many churches here in Arizona (Kirk was a resident of Fountain Hills, a suburb of Phoenix). They weren't holding vigils for the Colorado shooting, and they didn't hold vigils for the Hortmanns, and what often gets forgotten there is that there were two other victims of Vance Boelter, Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette, and Boelter was also about to shoot their nine-year-old daughter. The Hoffmans survived. Boelter was also thwarted from shooting a fifth person, Ann Resi, because at that point, the police were on high alert. But there were pointedly no flags at half-staff for the Hortmans or the Hoffmans. They were only Democrats, after all.
