It was a pretty good direct. People that expected a bunch of AAA announcements were going to leave disappointed since the beginning. This kind of directs are only to hype previously announced games before the holiday season, and throw in a couple new announcements for the beginning of the following year. It always have been like that.

Now if the argument is "but I don't like Metroid, nor Mario, nor Resident Evil, nor Dragon Quest, nor RPGs, nor Fire Emblem, nor Pokemon.. (now a very long list of other games shown)" now I can see why you didn't liked the direct.

Sorry, but Mario Tennis is not exactly the new exciting 3D Mario we were hoping for. Third party games will be mostly GKCs, so thats out. The Pokemon game looked like a shitty Switch 1 game. Underwhelming paid DLC for Mario Wonder, DK Bananza and Pokemon Z-A. No Elden Ring. No Splatoon Raiders. No Rhtyhm Heaven Groove. Im sorry, but if you eat up anything Nintendo shits out, then Im sure it was a decent Direct.
