Nope, no chance.
SNY was highly unlikely to screw up PS5 after living through PS3 and witnessing XB1, so MS could only hope to claw back market share with XB Series.
XB Series has fallen even further because for any error SNY made with PS5, MS made an error as bad, if not some worse.
MS as a company has never been great at selling large volumes of hardware to the average joe consumer.

PS3 - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.
PS4 - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.
PRO -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.
PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
