Wii U to Switch? No. Switch went up in price. Just skip straight to Switch 2 at this point unless you're really strapped for cash and think Switch Lite offers enough value.
Xbox One to Xbox Series? No. Xbox has gotten quite ridiculous in price.
PS4 to PS5? Yes. Go for the standard PlayStation 5 or splurge on PS5 Pro if you've been saving up for a while.
I don't think the next generation is going to be much cheaper if cheaper at all and I don't see the current 9th generation systems decreasing in price.
