Dropping as low as 720p while also falling short of 60fps on a PS5 is a pretty poor result on its own, but when you have the PS5 Pro, a $750 premium console, dropping to 756p while running at an even worse framerate than the base system, then you fucked up.

Pushing eye candy to the point where it compromises playability is just bad game development.

Maybe.  Personal opinion, Pro consoles are generally a fuck up.  The Pro has fundamental the same CPU and isn't the total ram the same?  Most Pro consoles are unbalanced and it also appears PSSR leaves a lot to be desired.  And low resolution isn't new to the ps5.  Isn't alan wake 900p (or around there)?

It's not a new thing, in fact UE5 games are repeat offenders when it comes to low resolutions on console.

Just my personal opinion, but if your game can't hold a stable framerate and drops to resolutions worse than most PS4 games on a PS5, then you should rein things in, no point in going crazy with eye candy if performance suffers as a result.
