Don't get me wrong, I love pretty graphics as much as the next guy. I just feel like if your game doesn't even run well for most of your userbase, then you probably should have focused more on performance than eye candy.

Depends on what "run well" means.  I personally hate 30 fps but also accept consoles don't have the horsepower to lock 60 at a high resolution with today's games.

The ps5 is showing its age.  It is 5 years old.  It doesn't feel like it because the software lineup for 2 years has been bad, but it is old hardware.

Per normal cycles we would be looking at a ps6 in 26 or 27.

Dropping as low as 720p while also falling short of 60fps on a PS5 is a pretty poor result on its own, but when you have the PS5 Pro, a $750 premium console, dropping to 756p while running at an even worse framerate than the base system, then you fucked up.

Pushing eye candy to the point where it compromises playability is just bad game development.
