I started watching this while my edible started to kick in

When he got to the next big revolution (AI) wondering what will happen with AI lacking empathy, this came to mind:

Hmm, we're already in a much colder world. First live streamed genocide and the entire world just moves on, condemning starving children but no empathy to actually save them. AI is already used for targeting but now it's still humans making the decisions to inflict horror on each other.

Let's give AI a chance and perhaps AI will give us a chance.

We (genX) effed it all up good. From bedroom coders to civilization destroyers. From early tech adopters to pining for retro tech.

We dove head in to the internet, building it up, cheering it on. Dial-up to always online, always demanding faster speeds and more content. We got what we wished for.

As I always interpreted this song literally "Here we are now, entertain us"

Was the world too easy/comfy in the 80s 90s that we only sought entertainment?..

Just to comment on this. This is the micro-generation I am a part of. I believe the correct term is "Xennial" or "Gen X/Millennial cuspers" (basically, the late Gen Xers and early millennials). To be fair, I never really thought about generations until I was already an adult. I was aware of the Baby Boomer generation gap, and the film The Graduate, and that's about it.

Smells Like Teen Spirit was kind of our anthem.

(And on an unrelated/related note. OK, I know this post is after my goodbye post. NOW it's goodbye!)

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
