Switch 2 does already have one big step up over Switch 1 for me, in that it has its own Mario Kart and Donkey Kong games; the absence of both was one of my few disappointments with Switch 1, as someone who already played Mario Kart 8 and Tropical Freeze on Wii U back in 2014.

An excellent point. It's unlikely that Switch 2 will give a new title to every IP that got one on Switch. A brand-new flagship Mario Kart and new Donkey Kong title were both missing on Switch.

And some IPs might get less titles than they got on Switch.

True, but the balance may be more in favour of one's tastes this time around.

Getting a new MK and DK is a big deal for me for example as they are two of my favourite Nintendo IPs, while I wouldn't really mind if say there wasn't another Mario Tennis or Fire Emblem Warriors on Switch 2 as those aren't my cup of tea.

Switch 1's first party lineup was excellent overall, but I do think Switch 2 has the possibility of topping it.
