I'm fine with a PS5 next gen as well. Just make it affordable in today's climate.
The obvious move for the handheld would be x86. This should mean not only would there be no lack of software support whatsoever, but it could probably play most if not all PS games, other than PS3 maybe.
The not so obvious would be to partner with Nvidia and make something very similar to SW2, assuming SNY is going to, or is thinking of putting some if not a fair amount of their games on SW2. That way porting games to SW2 should be a piece of cake, since it would pretty much be done already for their own handheld, as well as a super easy backup plan if the handheld did fail, where they're basically already porting to SW2 anyway.
Either plan could work, but regardless of how well SNY executes, I don't see them breaking 50M units sold. I think they'd be lucky to hit that number even if they do everything right. They'd definitely sell far more home consoles than (dockable) handhelds.

PS5 - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.
PRO -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.
