Wow are we really not over the "HD2D style is overused and old news" debate ... ? That's just sad considering this is simply an artistic choice we're speaking here. It's likely to age just as well as games from the 4th generation did.
It's fine not to really vibe with the style though, but there's never been anything to be so upset about considering also that Square Enix has been one the sole devs of this kind of style (and a few pixel art games Indies here and there).
