There will always be a trade deficit between the richest country in the world and let's say Bangladesh where the average salary is a fraction of a US salary. Or countries that don't need to import as much from the US because they have healthier options locally without a bunch of chemicals that are illegal in the EU, etc.

And with people in Europe increasingly use apps to identify American products to avoid them altogether as punishment for how the US is treating Europe, I strongly doubt that the trade deficit of the US is going to drop anytime soon, in fact I expect it to grow even further as European citizens look for alternatives everywhere.
