If you mean in that the idea of having guest Nintendo characters or more out there Mario Characters, it might be a slight disappointment. 

But going with the zany idea of using previous Mario enemies or NPC as racing characters is also ample enough imo.

Anywoo, looking at MK8DX Booster Course Pass, it isn't impossible to get other characters coming in the long run

I mean the characters nobody asked for, like Dolphin, Sidestepper or Peebo. Why not Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong of King K Rool?
