That is the ultimate question! Sony only has direct ability to ban if an Xbox device connects to PSN. Otherwise, they would need to work with Valve, Epic, and even GOG on a solution. I mean, I know I’m planning on swapping the version of Windows on my gaming PC to this new Xbox version when it becomes available, and what is Sony going to do? It’s a PC I built myself.

Yoshida described as Sony games on PC as “almost like printing money” there’s no going back for them. And unless Sony decides to make their storefront and games only available on Linux and Mac there’s nothing they can do about it. 

And they're not likely to make their own store, because that's quite an investment in and of itself, plus PC gamers HATE every time a new store gets introduced lol. Literally the only reason the Epic store is even still around is Fortnite and a crazy amount of spending on epic store exclusives.

It looks like next generation is going to be something like IOS vs Android, where Xbox OS is the android of consoles and Sonu is the iPhone. Unless Sony make its own app and make undownloadable on Xbox OS, Xbox is going to have an advantage, in my opinion. 

Unlike Apple, I can see Sony selling the next playstation at a loss because it is the norm for consoles. Microsoft cannot do that or it will piss off other console makers who plan to ise Xbox OS.
