I'm not buying that Sony is selling PS5 at a break-even price or even selling it at loss, and even if it is, I have no reason to be happy about a console costing at least roughly as much or even more than at launch over 4.5 years after launch, especially when even the inflation-adjusted launch price was up from that of PS4. I also have a hard time believing that inflation that had a greater effect than falling manufacturing costs, as tends to happen during console lifecycles. That I haven't checked though, because I'm not sure where to look, so it would probably take uncomfortably long to investigate that and it's just not worth my time.
