I remember back in the day on IMDB the Lord of the Rings movies were relentlessly hated and bashed for being "overrated" cos a minority of film snobs couldn't accept that they were great movies that deserved to be in the site's top 20 highest rated.

Likewise, the Wii got bashed constantly despite being the most popular and successful console of its generation.

Vocal hate usually comes from a minority of obnoxious loudmouths.

I'd argue, most people who don't have the time to complain or look at people complaining are likely the ones who play games the most really.

Pretty much, normal well adjusted human beings don't waste their time hating on things online, they just play what they like and get on with life.
