My favourite reimagining of Frankenstein is X-Men: First Class.

But I think the original story is quite good. Although, I don't know if any adaptations have actually tried to replicate the original framing narrative... the backdrop was Dr. Frankenstein lands aboard a ship attempting to navigate the Northwest Passage through the arctic ice with his tale of ambition turning around to destroy him. There are so many directions that they could go with the framing narrative that resonates with modern audiences, such as nuclear weapons, or something similar, perhaps a currently relevant technology like AI... although, Frankenstein reimaginings have already done AI since at least the 1980s.

I'll be curious about this film.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
