Plenty of games start out in development for one generation and only come out on the following generation, like Star Fox Adventure, which was originally meant for the N64 and was one of the best-looking 6th-gen games despite starting life as a 5th-gen game. The story is literally about how the Switch 2 is more powerful than the Switch 1. It's a lot like Bayonetta 3, a game that was in development for many years before it was shown off, and which was seriously compromised because of its ambition pushing Switch 1 too far, to the point Bayonetta 2 looks better than Bayonetta 3. We could have gotten a game that looked and ran worse than Mario Kart 8 instead of what MKW became. |
Not only graphics and performance. A lot of features would be cut. A Mario kart would definetily not have 24 racers in a open world scenario specially if they want a somewhat playable performance. 4 player split screen? Forget it!
