It would have been interesting to see Sega's take on a Wii-like console though; they did release some bangers that gen such as Sonic Colours and Generations, All Stars Racing and its sequel Transformed, Bayonetta, Vanquish, House of the Dead Overkill, Madworld, etc.

Wii Sports was barebones. I never played Resort. I don't get how improving the graphics or including more levels would have made the game less accessible. Why can't I compete in a bowling league vs. the CPU? They could have put Camelot on it and made an RPG mode like Mario Golf and Tennis on GBC. Imagine if Wii Sports had Mario characters, better graphics, and a full-on career mode for everything.

It's aesthetic was a deliberate choice to look clean and appealing, not laziness.

It was limited in content, yes, (Resort was much better in this regard) but it was a free pack in. It was built more around replayability and multiplayer, around breaking it out at parties or for family games night, rather being oriented around long single player sessions.
