Why worry? If the rumor is true and a small publisher can afford to put their game on a 64 GB game card, then that would mean that every third party publisher can afford it. This would stand in stark contrast to the 32 GB game cards for Switch 1 which were very rarely used.

Seems like Capcom, Square-Enix and some others cant justify using a 64GB one, so I dont know. I swear if Elden Ring is a game-key card I will be very disappointed.

Capcom couldn't even put the full Mega Man Collection on Switch 1 on a game card, so it required a partial download despite its overall small file size that would have made it fit on an 8 GB game card comfortably. There were plenty of other examples that had nothing to do with the storage medium for physical games, hence why nobody should be surprised that this malpractice will continue on Switch 2. So file sizes and production costs of game cards really do not matter much for Switch 2 games; it's about whether or not any given publisher has a sense for basic decency and that is the part that should worry you (and me).

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.
