Yeah exactly. Seems like every month or so is gonna be a new round of announcing tariffs and then delaying some of them when markets crash. Only reason price of the system stayed steady is cuz most of the tariffs were delayed. No telling what tariffs will be like by summer though. Everyone in the US is going to have to have a very dynamic pricing strategy as long as this US govt economic chaos continues. Still though, Switch 2 price was already crazy, and now all the already overpriced peripherals just went up another $5 when everyone is already pissed about the high prices. Luckily for Nintendo the average person probably only buys like 0 to 1 peripherals so probably more people will just be relieved the system doesn't cost $500 (yet) and the $5 extra price won't cause a big commotion. |
Yeah relief that the console stayed the same should exceed that. With the PS5 now getting yet another price increase in various places I wonder if Nintendo will do that with the Switch 2 in the coming years. Price cuts getting replaced by price increases could help out the Switch 2 in its first couple years since if it might cost more down the line more people than usual might get it early
