And when it comes to online discussions, what seems to matter is people putting so much stock in the outcome of their favorite video game console that they have to invent magical forms of logic and reasoning in order to sleep at night. There is so much confirmation bias, so much walled-garden mass delusion going on around here and other like-places, that I literally can't handle it anymore. It's like trying to point out Trump's flaws to the MAGA crowd. People want to believe what they want to believe, and curse my ego for thinking I might be able to help them in some sort of way, or to expect them to see what is clearly all around them. I mean, when NOA's own president is doing his best Don Mattric impersonation, and the former president of Playstation is going on record, saying things like Nintendo is losing their identity... you'd think at the very least people would smell a hint of smoke. But apparently, that's not the case. And I no longer really have it in me to help them get there. The console will launch, and over the next few years, the results will be what they are regardless of anyone's opinions. I can only hope that when that day comes, the people who were on the wrong side of the issue, pro or con, can actually accept it and grow, otherwise... sigh. Until then, I'm bowing out. |
You forgot Reggie "subtly" smacking them with his story about free pack-in game for Wii and having to fight Miyamoto over including Wii Sports for free in Americas and Europe.
