Just Finished: Remnant: From the Ashes (PS4)

I guess this is the first Souls-like game I have ever played. I only played it because I was looking for another co-op game to play with my friend and it was given away on PS Plus a few years ago. It took me a while to get into it but the game is fun enough. The combat is satisfying. The gameplay is not that deep. There aren't much in the way of puzzle or other obstacles to contend with other than the barrage of enemies and bosses. The randomly generated level designs got annoying and felt generic. Several times we got stuck retracing our steps pointlessly. There are also some UX and playability issues. The co-op works pretty well though. The graphics can be nice. The challenge is fair. The text is too small. I didn't pay attention to what most of the items did. The story was all over the place and not worth paying attention to. Took us about 16 hours to beat. I won't spend anymore time on this but I'd be willing to play through the sequel if I get it for free or a very cheap price.
