Rand Paul says his fellow Republicans come up to him in the hill and whisper, "'free trade is good. Keep going.' But they don't want to say it because of the politics of it."

This would be devastating for Hollywood.

China just had an animated movie make $2 billion based almost entirely on their domestic market.

That's one thing the U.S. can't really retaliate against.

It always baffled me how Republicans wanted to sabotage Hollywood, which is one of the few industries where the U.S. used to enjoy a massive trade surplus and was one of the best vehicles for American soft power, just because it didn't kiss their asses.

The American movie and music industry is in my opinion one of if not the main reason why people on this planet even know so much about USA and why it has its status.

People around the world watch movie after movie and TV show after TV show from and in USA to burn everything about USA in our brains. American products, American landscapes, American cities and most importantly the American lifestyle.

The reason why so many even want to travel to USA is because they've watched movies about American Road trips, movies in New York and so on...it's like why so many video game fans care about Japan but 100x the effect.
