Then you have more laid back Nintendo fans who will buy when they think its a good time and value but are pretty sure to get one eventually. Then you get to the customers more difficult to convince, more casual gamers, perhaps lower disposable income or people who look for value in their purchases and these are the type of people that need more convincing. The wii u had a good launch but it went downhill from there rather than build up it's install base. Often one of the critical elements of a console launch is its seen to be a success so others feel safe in buying it. It's being launched at a time where world trade is in a strange place to say the least and the USA is the most important market to Nintendo. It feels to me what could have been a success story may well end up being a failure due to high tariffs and poor sales in the USA but hopefully I'm wrong. |
Well the cheaper model of the Switch 2 in Japan is region locked. The regular region free one is like 470 dollars.
