I know I'm close to a week late on this.
But as far as this "pricing disaster" goes, the only pricing that I'd even consider close to disastrous would be the software seemingly going up to $70-80, which is an industry-wide deal, not just a Nintendo deal.
As far as the system itself being $450 goes - I actually don't think that's a problem at all. It's a little higher than what I and many others would have liked, $400 being the widely agreed sweet spot, but given what the system is and what it's capable of, $450 is a fair price point.
