Certainly, people who are in need of something should have bought their stuff a week ago already, because Trump's tariff announcement was known to come on April 2nd. The actual announcement was worse than anyone expected, but it was clear that it would be bad without a doubt, so enough reason to buy your stuff while the prices are still at March level.
A trade war of this scale is something that not even the mighty USA can endure for long. That's why I am not expecting the worst case scenario that the announced tariffs will still be in place come June.
