EU tariffs are generally much more focused on stuff coming from the states that voted the guy into power, so red states, and avoid tariffs on essential goods like medicines.

As for your question, they could tariff that LNG if they wanted, Canada could easily take up the mantle instead. Would come at no loss whatsoever for the EU and a big one for the US.
