For Nintendo's case it's particularly rough since Switch 2 games are way more expensive than 3DS games were and it wasn't that long ago when that platform was very relevant. Like just 9 years ago someone could've bought two 3DS games for the price of just one of the more expensive Switch 2 games. The Switch bringing things up to what others were charging was already a significant cost increase but now they're going beyond the current standard with at least some of their games physically.
If it wasn't for that last part then people wouldn't have been nearly as pissed off I think since it made sense for Nintendo to charge the same as others with the Switch since Switch games were kinda like PS4/Xbox One games just on much worse hardware so if was just the expected increase of 10 for the big games to bring things in line again then there would be some annoyance but probably not much more than that.
