So it is a 5220 mAh battery (not replaceble by the user).

Does anyone know/heard how many volts the Switch 2 needs?

  • with 3.7 V that would be 19.3 Wh battery capacity
  • with 5 V that would be ~26 Wh battery capacity
  • with 6 V that would be ~31 Wh battery capacity
  • with 7.4 V (double of Switch 1) that would be 38.6 Wh battery capacity

Digital Foundry is expecting that the 5220 MaH battery has 20 Wh battery capacity and that it limits at 10 Watts in mobile mode in their Switch 2 video... so they seem to expect a voltage of 3.7.

I still have my doubts that the Switch 2 can be so much more efficient than Steam Deck & Co. to reach 2 - 6 hours battery life with a 20 Wh battery when the others need 40 - 80 Wh for similar battery lifes and ~20Watts for similar results.

So maybe their guess is wrong and the voltage + battery capacity is higher?
