Just Finished: Resistance: Burning Skies (Vita)

Absolute garbage. This was the very last Resistance game left for me to play and its also the final release in the franchise. It is such a disappointment. It was one of the very first handheld first person shooters to take advantage of dual analog controls. The controls are fine but pretty much everything else with the game is horrible. The campaign only has 6 (quite lengthy) levels. The story is half assed, introducing characters and failing to make us care about them. The main character is a firefighter, but the only real impact that has on the game is that he uses an ax as a melee weapon. The game is so short, it introduces so many different weapons in quick succession. The weapons are actually pretty neat and can be fun to use. They can even be upgraded, but that would take multiple playthroughs because the game is so short. They don't even get the sound effects right for all of the guns. The graphics are grotesque and offputting. The game is buggy and the final boss battle is a chore. This game was rushed out for the Vita launch window. That poor developer had to turn around and then deliver a shitty COD game just a few months later. Such a wasted opportunity. Sony did this series a huge disservice. Resistance and fans deserved better.
